Action
Dermatix Ultra Kids is an advanced scar formula that is proven effective in the management of scars. It has been used on patients from 3 months old and above, thus gentle on sensitive and delicate skin.
Dermatix Ultra Kids is manufactured with innovative silicone gel technology including cyclopentasiloxane (CPX) which imparts a soft and silky feel. CPX is a new generation film forming elastomer that offers the characteristics of excellent spread-ability, quick drying, improved durability and wash off resistance that further enhance flattening and softening of scars. Its quick drying effect into the skin also minimizes the risk of oral ingestion among young children.
Dermatix Ultra Kids also has a unique ingredient of Vitamin C ester, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, which is a new active lipid form of Pro-Vitamin C with non-irritating neutral pH. A significant body of scientific research supports the use of Vitamin C which has cutaneous benefits in photoprotection and lightening hyperpigmentation. The absorption and clinical effect of Vitamin C in Dermatix Ultra Kids is unknown.
How to Know If Dermatix Ultra Kids is Working: A scar is usually red or darker in color compared to the normal surrounding skin; it is thick, dry and elevated and can be itchy and painful. With regular and proper use of Dermatix Ultra Kids, the scar will lighten, soften and flatten over time. Itchiness and pain will also be reduced with Dermatix Ultra Kids.
Indications/Uses
Dermatix Ultra Kids works on scars caused by a variety of incidences. These may include scars resulting from falls, surgery, burns, cuts, scratches, insect bites etc. Scars resulting from these incidences may become large, thick, dry and elevated and can be dark or red in appearance and may be itchy or even painful.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Using Dermatix Ultra Kids is quick and easy. The patient will observe the best improvement in the scar if the patient complies with the application instructions as follows: Dermatix Ultra Kids Application Guide: Clean the affected area with mild soap and water, and then pat dry.
Place a pea sized amount at the tip of the scar and gently spread thinly over the whole affected area. A pea size is sufficient to cover a 6-inch scar.
Allow to dry for about 1-2 minutes. Once dry, Dermatix Ultra Kids may be used with lotion or sunscreen.
Apply Dermatix Ultra Kids twice daily (morning and evening) on clean, dry and intact skin only.
Best results can be achieved with early treatment of Dermatix Ultra Kids i.e. on fresh scars (up to 3 months old) as soon as the wound has healed and closed. For example in surgical wounds this would be typically 10-14 days after surgery.
Dermatix Ultra Kids is recommended to be used for 2 months and for as long as the patient continues to see improvement in the scar.
